The Academy of the Performing Arts is a devoted to the artistic development of the young child to adult. A small school that offers individual attention, the Academy of Performing Arts offers classes in ballet, creative movement, musical theater, piano, voice and choir.

Young people are bursting with energy-artistic and otherwise. The Children and Youth Sidewalk Sale is a fun way for boys and girls to express themselves visually. CPFA encourages young people to develop their artistic potential through personal expression in individually crafted, original objects. Artists ages 8 through 18, who live in or have relatives in Blair, Centre, Clearfield, Clinton, Huntingdon, Mifflin or Union Counties, are encouraged to participate. All work must be designed and produced by the entrant; work made from kits is not permitted.
Voice Students of Terri Dennis

Voice students of Terri Dennis, aged from four to sixteen will perform Disney favorites, songs from Broadway shows, and other popular fare. Terri Dennis’s students perform at retirement communities, festivals, and other local venues. Singers will be accompanied by Desiree Dennis on keyboard and Emily Dennis on violin.

National Marionette Theatre presents Peter and the Wolf

Each season the National Marionette Theatre tours extensively performing their award winning adult and family productions for festivals, theaters, colleges, universities and performing arts centers throughout the USA and Europe. So polished is their technique, so tasteful is their artistry that today the company is recognized as one of the finest in the world. The National Marionette Theatre will be presenting Peter and the Wolf, the classic children’s story written by Russian composter Sergei Prokofiev in 1936

Students will present a narrated demonstration of styles of dance and excerpts from their recent production, Fairy Tales and Nursery Rhymes. The Fraser Street Dancers will make a special appearance, and the Pennsylvania Dance Theater will present a work from their repertory.

Centre Dance Studio

Centre Dance offers ballet, pointe, tap, jazz, and hip hop to students age 3 and up at its State College studio. Students perform several times a year, including spring recitals and traditional Christmastime The Nutcracker. Centre Dance’s director, Nicole Swope, is a member of Dance Masters of America.THe Performance will also feature members of the Centre Dance competition team, Avid Dance Productions.

Our popular procession features an array of small, medium and giant sized puppets, masks, drums, and banners suitable for 400 “marchers”. The procession will travel on Allen Street from the Penn State Campus to the Central Parklet.
