Penn State’s Art of Discovery Booth

Come learn about the art of science, the science of art, and where the two meet and overlap at Penn State’s Art of Discovery booth. From Thursday, July 11, through Saturday, July 13, Penn State will host a series of free, thought-provoking demonstrations and hands-on activities with researchers and students for festival-goers of all ages. Each day is packed with engaging activities that connect science, research and art:

  • Take a peek into Penn State’s past with a real-life Flashback Friday.
  • Make your own handmade paints the way early humans did hundreds of thousands of years ago.
  • Create brilliant, iridescent colors out of ordinary water droplets.
  • Learn the science behind mindfulness and techniques you can practice in your daily life.
  • Hear music created from data collected in nature.
  • And more!

Check below for the full schedule, and be sure to follow Penn State on Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, and Penn State Research on Twitter for the most up-to-date information.

Penn State’s Art of Discovery booth is located on the Campus Mall next to Willard Building, between booths M-36 and M-37. Use #MyPennState and #ArtsFest on social media to join in on the conversation (and for a chance to be featured on Penn State’s social media)!
