SUMMARY:Singer/Songwriter Showcase
DESCRIPTION:The 2025 Singer Songwriter Showcase features a selection of award-winning singer songwriters from throughout Central Pennsylvania. Each artist will perform a half hour set\, and come together for one final song to help close out Sunday afternoon. \nChristopher Carithers is a guitarist and singer songwriter from the anthracite coal fields of Eastern Pennsylvania\, now living and teaching near the Susquehanna River. A multiple winner in the Pennsylvania Heritage Songwriting Competition\, Chris invokes Steinbeck and Salinger\, walks us past painted porches and beside rusting bridges. Chris performs regularly throughout the region\, in both solo and band configurations. \n  \n  \n  \n  \n \n  \nJim Colbert\, returning as Showcase host\, has performed across the country\, playing venues and festivals from New England to Texas\, including Godfrey Daniels\, The Borderline Folk Club\, The Rose Garden\, and the Northeast Regional Folk Alliance. Colbert has won multiple songwriting awards and airplay across the U.S.\, France\, and The Netherlands\, with tunes offering a cross section of Americana seen through the eyes of a life-long Pennsylvanian. \n  \n  \nTim Craven began his songwriting career at the Jawbone Coffeehouse in State College in 1972. He has played with Whetstone Run bluegrass band and still plays with the Rustical Quality String Band which\, in 1978\, was the first band to play music at the Central Pennsylvania Festival of the Arts. Tim will be joined by his wife Kim on bass and harmonies. The two have been playing together since 1978. \n \nMichael Lundy hails from Williamsport. After spending 32 years in the Air Force\, he returned to the Susquehanna Valley and began his lifelong ambition of performing music\, both as a solo artist and as a member of the band Prairie Dogma. Michael’s originas are featured on the band’s latest release\, “One Lane Bridge.” Among other pursuits\, Lundy is the host of “The Rec Room Radio Hour\,” a podcast featuring original music and interviews by musicians from across Central Pennsylvania.
