SUMMARY:Chip Mock Caricatures
DESCRIPTION:Chip Mock grew up in Johnstown\, Pa.\, admiring and drawing funny likenesses from an early age\, inspired by artists John Johns\, Norman Rockwell\, Mort Drucker\, and Al Hirshfield. \nWhile studying at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh\, Chip attended workshops taught by John Johns\, where he honed his skill for drawing caricatures at festivals and events. After graduation\, Chip moved to the State College area for work in graphic design and advertising in 1981. He started drawing caricatures locally the next year. \nIn 45 years since then he has enjoyed drawing hundreds of thousands of smiling faces! Along with arts festivals throughout the state\, Chip has entertained people of all ages with his caricature skills at parties\, proms\, weddings\, company picnics\, countless Penn State events\, and on cruise ships. \nHis black-and-white style is fast and funny\, always aiming to capture the charm of someone’s personality in their likenesses. He makes the experience of being drawn fun and entertaining for his subjects and especially enjoys their laughter and the laughter of friends and family when his drawing is revealed to them. \nChip finds great satisfaction in knowing his work is still enjoyed\, hanging on walls in homes\, schools\, and offices. \nThere is a cost for this activity.

SUMMARY:Sweet Desire
DESCRIPTION:Hailing from the once bustling railroad town of Altoona\, Pennsylvania\, Sweet Desire is far from the most average of rock and roll groups today. Formed in 2021\, and drawing inspiration from the sights\, sounds\, and experiences of 60s and 70s psychedelia\, counterculture\, and musical revolution\, Sweet Desire is committed to writing and performing original music reminiscent of a bygone era of popular culture. As of June 7th\, 2024\, the band has released four singles. Their latest\, “Queen of the Dawn\,” is an anthemic tune that takes a more melodic and laid-back approach. Although it is a stark contrast to their previous work\, the band believes there is something within for everyone to enjoy. Sweet Desire has had the pleasure of playing alongside the likes of the Steve Miller Band\, Quiet Riot\, Sponge\, among others. Sweet Desire and many bands like them are at the forefront of a 21st-century musical revolution\, and they don’t plan on slowing down. \nSponsored by Altoona First Savings Bank.
