SUMMARY:Songwriter Showcase
DESCRIPTION:Singer Songwriter Showcase 2024 \n The CPFA Singer Songwriter showcase brings together some of the “best of the best” from the regional performing songwriter scene\, delivering 2 hours of unforgettable original material. \n2-2:25  Jerry Bresee  \n2:30-2:55  Hannah Bingman \n3:00-3:25  Joe Pillot \n3:30-3:55  Jeff Mamett  \nAll: Closing song\, lead by Jim Colbert \nJerry Bresee is a performing songwriter who’s lived all over the US and has been making music as far back as he can remember.  Jerry writes songs in a wide range of styles\, ranging from straight-ahead jazz to country-tinged folk anthems with more than a touch of the blues. He’s performed at venues from Seattle to Atlanta\, including the Kennedy Center Millennium Stage. You can also hear him with Jon Rounds and Bruce Truitt in the Guitar Brothers trio.  \nFor over twenty years\, Hannah Bingman has been writing and performing her folk/blues compositions at venues along the east coast. In addition to a host of songwriting awards\, Bingman has released three studio albums as well as a live album\, and various digital singles. Bingman has grabbed opening slots for musicians such as Kaki King\, Michael Glabicki\, Jeffrey Gaines\, the Infamous Stringdusters\, Ellis\, David Rovics\, and Christine Lavin. \nJoe Pillot’s music was strongly influenced by the storytelling\, singer/songwriters of the 60s and 70’s\, such as Guy Clark\, Jim Croce\, Harry Chapin and James Taylor. Passionate about meaningful song lyrics\, he crafts his songs about love\, life\, nostalgia\, the passing of time and road travels. Born in central Pennsylvania\, the self-taught musician and lyricist has performed at festivals\, wineries\, listening rooms\, and the occasional county fair and carnivals perched upon a dusty flatbed trailer on a hot summer. \nJeff Mamett is a singer-songwriter influenced by artists like Guy Clark and John Prine. His authentic\, earthy songs take people places and evoke emotion. After years as a sideman in LA and Nashville\, recording and touring with various artists\, he left the music industry to raise a family. When the kids were grown\, Jeff began singing his own songs. His 2018 album\, “Carry Me Back”\, was critically acclaimed in publications such as Americana Highways\, Making a Scene Magazine\, Wide Open Country\, and Country Std. Time. His story telling and intimate laid back manner has delighted audiences of all sizes\, leaving folks feeling like they have been entertained on their back porch by an old friend. \nHost Jim Colbert is a multiple award-winning songwriter from Bellefonte. He has performed at venues and festivals across the country from New England to Texas\, including Godfrey Daniels\, Court House Concerts\, The Rose Garden\, Friendship House Concerts\, NERFA\, and more.
