SUMMARY:RamaLama
DESCRIPTION:Doo-wop is a genre of music that was developed in urban Black communities in the 1940s\, achieving mainstream popularity in the 1950s and early 1960s. Built upon vocal harmony\, doo-wop was one of the most mainstream\, pop-oriented R&B styles of the time. Doo-wop features vocal group harmony\, nonsense syllables\, a simple beat\, sometimes little or no instrumentation\, and simple music and lyrics. \nRamaLama features Tom Wilson\, Jeff Brown\, John Zimmerman\, Luke Lorenz\, Eric McGinnis and Amelia McGinnis. \n

SUMMARY:Mark DeRose and the Dreadnoughts
DESCRIPTION:The music of Mark DeRose & The Dreadnoughts calls upon DeRose’s (S/SW) love for rootsy blue-eyed soul and classic rock of the late 60s and 70s. One review summarized the music as\, “Thoughtful and provocative\, laden with metaphors of hope and celebration for life. It’s the stuff that makes feel good music feel so good!”. \nFor nearly 10 years\, DeRose has been forging his craft with his musical brothers in the Dreadnoughts. The core of the band is held down by DeRose on guitars and keys\, Chris Jakubowicz on bass and Dan Brenner on drums. A rich layer of melodic goodness is then added by the DREADNOUGHT’s two-man horn section of Ryan Shenk on sax and Vinny Shickora on Trumpet.  Additionally\, DeRose loves the opportunity to take advantage of his bandmate’s ability to sing harmony vocals\, frequently adding the use of 3- and 4-part harmonies to their songs. Willing and ready to perform their mix of both originals and covers\, the band is musically pliable and able to entertain a wide variety of audiences.  \nThe main goal when this band steps on stage is simple\, spread a little joy through music!  \nThis performance is sponsored by McLanahan’s. \n

SUMMARY:Kristi Jean and Her Ne'er-Do-Wells
DESCRIPTION:Texas native Kristi Jean brings her acclaimed country-infused twang to bear on a collection of feisty songs that reflect the moment in time when country and rhythm and blues begat rockabilly and rock ‘n’ roll. Like her heroes\, Kristi was raised on traditional country music played through an AM radio; but her independent spirit drove her to musical rebellion: experimenting with rock n’ roll\, pop\, and even musical theatre. With her Ne’er-Do-Wells at her side\, Kristi has come full-circle to her country roots – with her fiery spirit not far beneath the surface. \nKristi’s Ne’er-Do-Wells are veterans of the honky-tonk and rockabilly scene and their wide-ranging talent and musical sensibilities are sure to get your heart pumping and feet moving. \nThis performance is sponsored by Webster’s Bookstore Cafe. \n

SUMMARY:Scythian
DESCRIPTION:Washington DC-based Scythian (sith-ee-yin) began over 12 years ago as a bunch of college buddies playing Celtic music in the streets and has grown to be a headliner on the US Celtic Festival Circuit as well as a name in the Bluegrass/Americana Festival Circuit. They found that their brand of high-energy folk music found a resonance that led The Washington Post to state: “Scythian’s enthusiasm is contagious\, and shows seem to end with everyone dancing\, jumping around or hoisting glasses.”\nFor over 12 years they have found success as an independent band and have played over 1\,300 shows all over the united states\, Europe\, Canada and as far aways as Australia. \nFounded by brothers Alexander and Danylo Fedoryka who are first-generation sons of Ukrainian immigrants\, Scythian from the start has been a search and love for the “old time\, good time music” of many cultures. They were inspired by a tale told by their 92-year-old grandmother of a roving fiddler who came into her farming village every six months or so. Once he was spotted\, messengers were sent to all the outlying fields and mills and worked ceased; everyone gathered in the barn where they danced all night and danced their cares away. This spirit is what has motivated Scythian from its inception and their success as an independent band is due largely to their finding a resonance of soul amongst kindred spirits that span all ages and races. This spirit took them from the streets to playing for the US president on St. Patrick’s Day and its the enthusiastic response they receive that has made each of their 1\,300+ shows unique.  \nThe calling card of Scythian is their ability to engage their audience no matter the venue or circumstance and truly every Scythian shows ends with people dancing\, smiling and covered with sweat.  \nAn Arts Festival wristband is required for this performance.

SUMMARY:Friar's Point
DESCRIPTION:Friar’s Point Band\, aka Friar’s Point\, was formed in 2006 and quickly became one of The Northeast Region’s top Blues-Rock acts. Known for its musicianship and originality\, Friar’s Point has represented The Lehigh Valley\, Pennsylvania\, at The International Blues Challenge in Memphis Tennessee\, three times. Friar’s Point Band regularly appears throughout the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast regional festival and theater circuit\, and have opened for Ray Manzarek\, Roy Rogers\, Steve Miller\, Joe Louis Walker\, Nick Moss\, Clarence Spady\, Robin Trower\, Deanna Bogart\, Ricky Scarlett\, and others. \nFriar’s Point took their name from the Susan Tedeschi song about the blues evolving up the Mississippi from the town of Friar’s Point to Chicago.  The band has traveled to their namesake several times and struck up a relationship with the river community. The images and vernacular of the age of Robert Johnson and Muddy Waters\, wind throughout many of the bands originals\, and mixed with a modern edge\, Friar’s Point Band continues the evolution of the blues.

SUMMARY:Cass and the Bailout Crew
DESCRIPTION:Formed in 2019\, Williamsport-based roots rock band Cass and The Bailout Crew\, has quickly developed a loyal fan base in Pennsylvania and New York. The band released its first full length album Room To Breathe in May 2021.  The work crosses musical boundaries between melodic roots rock and hard-grooving musical themes\, yet maintains a subtle folk-Americana inspired storytelling sensibility. \nLead singer Cass Chatham is gifted vocalist. She sings with authority\, passion\, and dynamic range… fans have dubbed her the “vibrato queen of the east.” Cass feels every note\, and so does the audience. \nThe Bailout Crew draws from over 30 years of professional musical experience and provide an undeniably talented musical backdrop to her growling vocals and dynamic stage presence. \nThis performance is sponsored by Webster’s Bookstore Cafe. \n
