We’ll chase the White Rabbit through downtown State College and stumble down the Rabbit Hole only to discover that we grow smaller and larger every other minute! We’ll celebrate Un-Birthdays with Humpty Dumpty\, sip tea at the Mad Hatter’s Tea Party\, uncover Lions and Unicorns with Tweedle Dee & Tweedle Dum\, slay a Jabberwocky and play croquet with the Queen. This 90-minute downtown State College journey will begin at Tempest Studios\, roll into MLK Plaza\, visit a few downtown stores\, and end in Sidney Friedman Park. SUMMARY:Central Pennsylvania Dance Workshop
DESCRIPTION:The Central Pennsylvania Dance Workshop provides its students with a well-rounded dance education. Students have the opportunity to perform in a variety of venues and to develop skills in dance instruction and choreography. At the Festival\, its students will present a showcase of styles of dance including ballet\, modern\, jazz\, tap\, and hip hop. \nThe director of CPDW is Jill Brighton.  A native of State College\, Jill has been dancing since she was four. She has a broad range of experience teaching diverse populations\, including children with special needs and senior citizens. Jill also works with the Galaxy Arts in Education Program of Central Intermediate Unit 10 and is a rostered artist with the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts.

SUMMARY:Pat Farrell Community Sing Along
DESCRIPTION:For many years State College residents came together for a weekly “community sing” each week during the summer\, under the direction of Frank Gullo\, the director of Penn State’s Glee Club\, and Hummel Fishburn\, the director of The Blue Band. This fun tradition disappeared in the 1970’s\, it now has a new life\, named in memory of Pat Farrell\, a former Arts Festival board president. The enduring popularity of the event is proof there are lots of people who aren’t in the church choir\, or regulars at a karaoke night who enjoy singing. \nThis year’s event will be under the direction of Jim Kerhin and Gary Brubaker otherwise known as Picker and Papa. \nIt will be a fun evening of traditional songs\, folk melodies\, camp songs\, and perhaps a Broadway number or two. \nSponsored by Foxdale Village Retirement Community \n
