Performance by Ramalama

We are happy to welcome limited audiences to our live performances in the State College Presbyterian Church (all but River Drivers). Audiences will be limited to 250 people. Instead of the traditional Festival button, we’ll be selling wristbands at the door for $10. The wristband will be good for all three days, but they won’t guarantee a seat – it’s possible for shows to sell out.

Performance by Ramalama

July 9, 2021 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

Doo-wop is a genre of music that was developed in urban Black communities in the 1940s, achieving mainstream popularity in the 1950s and early 1960s. Built upon vocal harmony, doo-wop was one of the most mainstream, pop-oriented R&B styles of the time. Doo-wop features vocal group harmony, nonsense syllables, a simple beat, sometimes little or no instrumentation, and simple music and lyrics.

Ramalama is the Centre Region’s newest doo-wop group and features, Tom Wilson, Jeff Brown, John Zimmerman, Luke Lorenz, Eric McGinnis and Amelia McGinnis.
