Color and Create Project

Hey, kids.  How would you like to exhibit your work at the Festival too?  You can with our Color & Create Project! Print these 8 ½” x 11” pages  designed by artist Rebecca Thornburgh on your printer at home to color and add your own creations. Scan or snap a photo of your masterpiece and share it with us by tagging us on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram. Then you—and all your family and friends—can see your art on display here!

We have all of your favorite festival themes covered—the dumping buckets, the giant sand sculpture, street painting, the puppet procession, ice cream cones, and more!

We love the images we’ve already received, and we can’t wait to see what YOU dream up for your Arts Festival fun.

The Artist

Rebecca Thornburgh was reared in Hollidaysburg, PA–the hometown of The Slinky–and has been coming to the Festival since she was a kid.  She studied fine art at Bryn Mawr College before taking an early (and fortunately brief) professional detour through the greeting card industry. She’s one of the few—ok, probably the only—Wharton MBA who works as a children’s book illustrator and writer.

Using a variety of media, she’s illustrated over 130 books –  including boardbooks, picture books, early readers and design books – with over two million copies in print. Rebecca wrote and illustrated a graphic novel memoir while completing an MFA in creative writing for children and young adults at Hamline University.

She lives in a pleasantly spooky Victorian house in Philadelphia with one husband and two goofy dogs.
