PA CIVIL WAR ROAD SHOW
The Pennsylvania Civil War Road Show will visit State College during the 2012 Central Pennsylvania Festival of the Arts, July 12-15. It brings interactive exhibits, special programming, and commemorates the 150th anniversary of the Civil War. Based in a 53-foot expandable trailer, the Road Show tells compelling personal stories of the many different ways Pennsylvanians experienced the Civil War, both on the home front and on the battlefield, through interactive features including stereoscopic photographs, original compositions of Civil War-era music and sound effects, interactive map, hands on objects and animated stories.

The Road Show will be parked in lot 44 near the Bryce Jordan Center:
Thursday, July 12, 12:00pm-8:00pm
Friday and Saturday, July 13-14, 11:00 am-8:00 pm
Sunday, July 15, Noon-5:00pm
The Road Show will also unearth Civil War stories through a share your story recording booth. Visitors are invited to share their own Civil War-era photographs, artifacts and stories in the “Share Your Story” recording booth. The recordings will be available to the public at www.PACivilWar150.com.
The Pennsylvania Civil War Road Show is an initiative of Pennsylvania Civil War 150, the state’s official program commemorating the 150th anniversary of the Civil War, 2011-2015. PA Civil War 150 is governed by a statewide alliance of history, arts and cultural organizations including the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission, the Pennsylvania Heritage Society, the Senator John Heinz History Center and the Historical Society of Pennsylvania along with partner organizations across the state.
Admission is free.
