Images Juried Exhibition: Call for Entries
The Central Pennsylvania Festival of the Arts has issued the Call for Entries for its juried gallery exhibition, Images 2016. Images 2016 will hang in the Woskob Family Gallery of the Penn State Downtown Theatre Center and in the Betsy Rodgers Allen Gallery and Downsbrough Room of the School Centre Region Library during the month of July.
Work eligible for exhibition in the show includes drawings, paintings, mixed media, photography, hand-pulled prints, watercolors, fiber, and paper. The submission deadline is May 6, 2016.
The juror for Images 2016 is Daniel Massad. He is a pastel artist and the artist-in-residence at Lebanon Valley College in Annville. Massad’s work can be found in collections across the country including, the National Museum of American Art, Washington; the Metropolitan Museum of Art; the Philadelphia Museum of Art; and the Art Institute of Chicago.
Images 2016 is open to artists whose primary residence is in Pennsylvania. Digital images of original work produced within the last three years may be submitted. Both adults and enrolled students from ages 16 through 26 may apply to the exhibition.
Artists will be eligible for at least $1,500 in prizes awarded by the juror. There will be awards for best pastel and best drawing.
The fiftieth Central Pennsylvania Festival of the Arts will be from July 13 through July 17 on the streets of State College and on the adjacent campus of Penn State. Children and Youth Day is July 13, and the Sidewalk Sale and Exhibition opens on July 14 and continues through July 17.
