The Reception

Last Friday evening was our Images Opening Reception. As I wrote in a previous post, I have never been to an art gallery, let alone a reception in one. But I arrived at 5 p.m. in a brand new dress that I couldn’t wait to debut. The gallery looked amazing. The artwork seemed to have an idea as to how many people would be there that night to see and knew to look its best. The food, catered by The Atherton Hotel was displayed perfectly. The display almost looked like artwork itself.

For an hour and a half, I walked around and met lots of interesting people, even some artists themselves. I took pictures, interviewed Sue Reno, discussed art and observed. I was really interested in seeing how other people viewed things and what they thought about different art, especially if they had been to art galleries before. I seemed as though everyone knew exactly what to do. Art brings all types of different people together. Most of the people come together for the food, but the art is what makes them stay.
